Q + A with Loreana Von Plocki of The Daily Bella
During this strange time, when all normal life seems “paused”, we caught up with Loreana to see how she’s been handling the changes of life under quarantine as well as the inspiration behind her blog. She also shared her current favorite Westerly pieces with images shot at her home.

The Daily Bella started in 2012 after having my daughter Isabella. I started sharing kids outfits and my everyday life just for fun, and eventually in 2016 I decided to start my blog where I mostly shared my outfits. Now, The Daily Bella is a combination of everything that is important to me - motherhood, fashion and fitness. It’s my creative outlet and now my full time job and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
How would you describe your style philosophy?
Comfort! As a mom comfort is the #1 philosophy. I don’t believe I have a defined style though. My style changes very often. I love to have fun with my outfits, but I’m also very simple and love basic pieces. Fashion for me is about expression
but also about comfort.
but also about comfort.
Do you have a modern day style icon?
I don’t really have a specific style icon. However, in the modern times of social media there’s so many fashion influencers that inspire me. It’s such a creative and inspiring outlet.
What effect has living in Miami had on your personal style?
Well, it’s a bummer that we don’t have different seasons. I do sometimes wish I could layer with sweaters, coats and jackets, however, I do get to wear a LOT of bikinis! :)
Well, it’s definitely not easy! But I manage. I have an amazing support system. My fiancé, my family, they all help me to achieve my dreams. It really does take a village, and I can’t take all the credit.
How have the recent events and nation-wide quarantine changed daily life for you and how are you managing it?
Life completely changed as it has for everyone around the world. We are staying home and have been in quarantine for almost a month. My oldest daughter is being homeschooled and my toddler is, well, being a toddler. Life has been hectic with both of them at home and it has definitely not been easy. But I am thankful for this time with them and mostly for our home and our health. We are lucky to have everything we need. Many people have lost their jobs and are also trying to figure out what the next meal will be for their children. I can’t even imagine having to go through what a lot of people are going through right now.
Any tips or tricks that help you and your family stay happy and healthy during this time?
I’ve been taking one day at the time. Not thinking about tomorrow. I’ve been trying to create activities for the girls such as arts & crafts or going out for walks around our neighborhood. There are difficult days, some more than others but I keep reminding myself that we are lucky to be alive and well. This keeps me going.
Any must-have products or services that have been helpful?
Amazon and Instacart have been live savers! We are trying to limit going out as much as possible stay safe for our family and do our part in helping the virus to keep spreading. We try to order everything online and those two have been the best options.
Traveling is definitely not on my mind. Not even after restrictions are lifted. I think it’s going to take a while to get there. Maybe a road trip would sound more appealing! But for now, I really can’t wait to visit my family
and give all of them a big hug!
and give all of them a big hug!
What is your favorite Westerly suit and why do you love it?
This a very hard question! I absolutely love Westerly Swim, the pieces and the team behind it. But if must pinpoint it has to be the new TOPSAIL MAILLOT IN COPPER. It’s absolutely stunning and versatile. I can use it a swimsuit but also as a bodysuit. It’s elegant and so chic. 😍
What’s something most people wouldn’t know about you?
Nowadays everyone thinks they know you because of what they see on social media. I try to be as real as I can but truth is, what you see there is just a fraction of who I really am. I am an extremely family-oriented person. I love them and love spending time with them. For me, family is everything.
What’s your advice to other moms out there for handling the added pressure of having little one's at home (while also running a business)?
I wish I could give better advice but I am also navigating my way through these difficult times and trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. However, I’ve come to realize that in the past few weeks that the important thing is to be present in whatever you do and when it comes to choosing one over the other, always choose them. They need you, now, more than ever. Make memories with them and love them as hard as you can. And remind yourself that EVERYONE is trying to figure out life right now.
